Oakview's Mental Health Program offers comprehensive services for inpatient and outpatinet treatment for emotional probelms. The Mental Health Team works with each patient to estaablish a safe and secure environment in which to establish positive relationships with individuals and groups. Therapeutic activites are designed to assist in developing self-awareness, self-acceptance and personal responsibility.
Inpatient Treatment
The program includes a variety of treatment modalities, including individual, group and family conferences, diagnostic and evaluation services, educational programs, psychopharmacology and activity therapy specifically designed to help in the person's recovery. Patients are admitted to the inpatient program by psychiatrists.
Staff is available to provide emotional support and to facilitate understanding the problems the patient and family is dealing with as well as the plan for assisting the patient during treatment and after discharge. The program is licensed by the Ohio Department of Mental Health and accredited by The Joint Commission.
Intensive Outpatient Treatment
Outpatients attend group therapy sessions three to four times per week dealing with skill development to reduce stress, anxiety and depression in a save and supportive environment. The program uses a modified Dialectical Behavior Therapy approach to meet the individual needs of patients.
Partial Hospitalization
This comprehensive outpatient mental health program is for patients making the transition out of the hospital and those needing intensive treatment, but not requiring inpatient care. It is designed for patients who present serious emotional problems who are motivated for treatment, capable of group participation and likely to benefit from short-term treatment. Partial hospitalization patients meet three to five daya per week using a modified Dialectical Behavior Therapy approach.
Adolescent Mental Health
This program offers group sessions to treat behavioral problems in adolescents using a modified Dialectical Behavioral Therapy approach and involving family members. Teens meet twice a week and a third evening with family.
Dual Diagnosis Treatment
Emotional disorders and chemical dependencies occur concurrently in some individuals and require coordinated treatment. Recognizing the special needs of the dual diagnosis patient, Oakview provides a comprehensive biopsychosocial treatment program wher patient needs are assessed and met with a coordinated response from both mental health and chemical dependency teams.
