Southwest General provides the following pediatric services:
- Outpatient services for children of all ages
- Inpatient pediatric medical and surgical care for children 14 years of age and older
- Care for seriously ill children of all ages in Southwest General’s Emergency/Trauma Center.
Children under 14 years of age will be stabilized and then transferred. Southwest General’s partner, University Hospitals, has a wonderful children’s facility--Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital (RB&C)--which is one of the top pediatric hospitals in the country. Transfer to this renowned facility will assure the very best quality of care for seriously-ill pediatric patients.
- Rainbow RapidCare, which offers minor medical emergency care for children of all ages when their regular physician is not available. This very popular service is staffed by board-certified pediatricians from both RB&C and Southwest General.
- Neonatologists (physicians specializing in newborn care) provide 24-hour coverage for the Maternity Unit
- Care for newborns on the Maternity Unit.

Pediatric Pre-Surgery Party
Children scheduled for surgery can participate in a Pediatric Pre-Surgery Party that is held twice a month to acquaint the children and their families with admissions procedures and the routine on the day of surgery. For more information, or to register for the Party, call 440-816-8036.
Pediatric Therapy Services
