The University Hospitals (UH) Ireland Cancer Center at Southwest General offers a wide range of cancer-related services for patients and their families.
A multidisciplinary team of specialists determines the best course of treatment for each patient. The team includes board-certified physicians, nurses, therapists, social workers, dietitians and other health care professionals. Team members focus on providing an exceptional level of clinical care as well as compassionate, supportive care to meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of each patient.
In April 2010 the UH Ireland Cancer Center at Southwest General began offering TomoTherapy®, the most advanced technology for radiation therapy.
Comprehensive Cancer Care, Close to Home
The UH Ireland Cancer Center at Southwest General is a community-based location of University Hospitals (UH) Ireland Cancer Center.
UH Ireland Cancer Center, part of the Case Comprehensive Cancer Center, is one of only a select group of centers in the country to have been designated as a Comprehensive Cancer Center by the National Cancer Institute (NCI). This distinction recognizes development and use of the most effective methods of early detection, treatment and prevention of cancer, including clinical trials and advanced treatments not yet available elsewhere.
Recognizing that many patients prefer not to travel far for treatment, the UH Ireland Cancer Center offers community-based locations to help assure that patients receive the same exceptional level of cancer care, close to home. The UH Ireland Cancer Center at Southwest General is made possible through Southwest General’s partnering agreement with University Hospitals.
