  • Collaborative Practice Agreements
    • Administration of injectable medications – A first in the state of Ohio, Southwest General Emergency Medicine Pharmacists assist with medication administration for ED patients in a variety of clinical situations. The PGY2 resident will assist with preparation and administration of injectable medications for high acuity patients.
    • Culture callback – ED patients with cultures drawn in the ED and subsequently discharged have all of their cultures evaluated and managed by the emergency medicine pharmacists.
  • Rabies vaccine administration
  • Processing of discharge anticoagulant prescriptions for venous thromboembolism and atrial fibrillation
  • Project DAWN distribution site for naloxone kits and fentanyl test strips
  • Monthly EMS experience with Middleburg Heights Fire Department
  • Life flight experience with UH AirMed
  • Collaboration for state-wide PGY2 Emergency Medicine/Critical Care Journal Clubs
  • ASHP Emergency Medicine, ASHP Medications for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD), and ENLS certifications provided
