Baby Imprints: A peek into your unborn baby’s world

Everyone connected to a mom-to-be, at one time or another throughout her pregnancy, will wonder what the new baby will look like. Will it have mom’s nose, dad’s eyes … or even grandma’s notorious dimples? Now you and your family can have a chance to peek for yourselves BEFORE the baby is born!

Southwest General’s Main Campus Ultrasound Department, in Middleburg Heights, is excited to offer a glimpse of the growing baby through a new, voluntary nondiagnostic imaging experience, called Baby Imprints. This new program provides a chance to take a peek at the unborn baby in 2D, 3D and 4D (video) ultrasound with family and friends present (up to 5 guests maximum for the most comfortable viewing opportunity, although options for more guests can be discussed)! This can be an exciting event for everyone invited!

Additionally, at the end of the ultrasound experience, mom will go home with access to MobileBaby, a service allowing images and video to be shared electronically via text messaging, e-mail or social media outlets. Images and videos also can be printed or burned onto a disk for even more sharing.

Three viewing packages (by single-baby or multiple-babies categories) are available, ranging from 15 to 30 minutes. The imaging experience can happen throughout the remainder of the pregnancy as many times as a package is purchased to accommodate everyone’s varied life schedules. Gift certificates also are available and make great baby shower gifts for the parents-to-be!

Requirements for mom-to-be to participate:

• Must be between 25 and 37 weeks of pregnancy for the most optimal imaging
• Must have had an initial routine anatomy exam performed through the OB/Gyn prior to scheduling
• Consent from OB/Gyn (Southwest General will facilitate with proper information provided by the mom-to-be)
• Appointment scheduled at least one week in advance of imaging (necessary to allow time to request and receive physician consent)
• Package fee paid in advance (arrangements made through Southwest General’s Finance Department).

Please Note:

• Appointment location is at the Main Campus Outpatient Center in Middleburg Heights.
• Cancellation and/or rescheduling must take place within 72 hours of the appointment.
• No shows will forfeit the entire payment.
• Package changes must occur within 72 hours of the appointment and payment differences resubmitted. Packages cannot be changed at the time of appointment.
• If the baby is born before the appointment, payment will be refunded.
• The clarity of your images will be dependent upon the position of the baby and the placenta. If during your study the baby and/or placenta prohibit optimal viewing, we will invite you back for another session at no charge.
